FAQ

Questions people ask first.

If yours isn't here, ask during an introductory session — or just email.

Is coaching the same as therapy?

No. Therapy generally works backward — understanding and healing what happened. Coaching works forward — where you want to go and what's in the way of getting there. Coaching isn't a substitute for mental health treatment, and part of my job is telling you honestly if therapy is what you actually need. Plenty of people do both.

What actually happens in a session?

You bring what's on your mind. I ask questions — real ones, not rhetorical. We get underneath the surface issue to what's actually driving it, and you leave with a specific next step that you chose. Sessions run 45–60 minutes, held virtually by video.

How long before I see results?

Most people feel a shift in clarity after the first session — that part comes fast. Durable change in behavior usually takes a few months of consistent work, which is why packages are structured over time rather than sold one session at a time. Anyone promising transformation in a single session is selling you something.

What does ICF certification actually mean?

The International Coaching Federation is the main credentialing body for professional coaches. Certification requires specific training hours, documented coaching experience, a recorded performance evaluation, and adherence to a published code of ethics. This matters because coaching is an unregulated field — anyone can print a business card. The credential is the difference between trained and self-declared.

Do we meet in person or virtually?

Virtually, by video. It means we can work together regardless of where you are, and it makes scheduling far easier around work and family.

How often would we meet?

[PLACEHOLDER — typically every one to two weeks. Confirm the cadence she wants once packages are defined.] Frequent enough to keep momentum, spaced enough that you have time to actually do the work in between.

What if I need to reschedule?

Use the rescheduling link in your Google Calendar confirmation email up to 24 hours before the session. Inside 24 hours, message me and we'll work it out.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. What's said in a session stays there. ICF's code of ethics is the standard I hold myself to, and I take it seriously. The limited exceptions are the ones you'd expect — situations involving risk of harm or a legal obligation to disclose.

How do I pay?

Payment instructions are confirmed after you select a package. The Google Calendar page currently handles scheduling and meeting details.

What if it isn't a fit?

The introductory Discovery Package is designed to explore your goals and whether coaching is the right fit. If I don't think I'm the right coach, I'll say so and point you somewhere better. Neither of us benefits from forcing it.

Do you work with organizations, not just individuals?

[PLACEHOLDER — she has a leadership development background and an I/O Psychology master's, so team and leadership coaching is a natural second revenue line. Decide whether to advertise it now or later.]

Still deciding?

The Discovery Package is a focused introductory session for clarifying your goals and next steps.
